Apparitions is a series begun in 2021, shot over four years in two countries, Belgium and Croatia.
Through a meditative and contemplative process, the photographer experiments with architecture, the individual, nature and their respective interactions.
It's not always about looking for graphic relationships or direct visual links, but about immersing oneself in a world that is both visual and spiritual.
The dialogue between man and the environment that surrounds him is intended as a semi-transparent, distended thread.
The individual seems to stroll between the different levels of the image by his absence or ephemeral presence. They ‘appear’ only to disappear or shine through their absence.
The architectural complexes give rise to scenes taken on the spot, not staged in any way but ‘designed’ to accommodate the individual, sometimes immersed, sometimes imprisoned in his status as an accessory.
